Interlibrary loan (ILL) is an online resource-sharing service provided by the library for requesting electronic copies of documents like journal articles and book chapters from other libraries using Tipasa, PAU's ILL system. To review our ILL policies and find support for using ILL, please scroll down to the accordion sections and links that follow.

Please email the librarians if you need further assistance: librarian@paloaltou.edu.

PAU students, faculty, and staff may submit automated ILL requests via the PAU databases or the PAU library catalog and manual ILL requests via their WorldCat Discovery library accounts. We offer a library guide that will help with using ILL as part of the research process. Use the links below for access to these resources.

ILL provides electronic copies of documents to the fullest extent possible, subject to copyright law, licensing restrictions, and availability from our lending partners. Please note that loans of complete physical or digital items (e.g., books, eBooks, DVDs, streaming videos) are not available through ILL.

Tipasa requests for items that cannot be supplied through ILL will be evaluated to determine if an alternative form of access can be provided. When in doubt, please submit your request, and we will do our best to get you what you need! Please refer to the library guide linked below for details.

ILL services are not available to alumni due to licensing restrictions. Alumni may email the PAU librarians for a consultation regarding alternative options.

The PAU Library participates in resource sharing with OCLC-affiliated institutions and supplies their patrons with electronic copies of journal articles and book chapters, to the extent allowed by copyright law and applicable licensing terms, using the Tipasa ILL system.

Institutions that do not participate in OCLC resource sharing but are members of SCELC or NCCPL are welcome to contact the PAU librarians to inquire about document delivery options.

Please note that the PAU Library does not supply complete items, either physically or digitally, to other institutions through ILL.

The PAU Library does not offer ILL services directly to members of the general public, who should initiate such requests through a public library or any other library with which they are affiliated.
