Ongoing changes to U.S. Government policies are affecting the accessibility, collection, and reporting of public data.
Your PAU Librarians will determine workarounds and provide informational updates and relevant advice on the Accessing Federal Government Data page of this library guide.
Please email librarian@paloaltou.edu for additional assistance as we navigate this challenging situation.

Datasets are collections of empirical data derived from research studies. A variety of datasets are available for secondary analysis to support research in psychology and related disciplines, and a variety of tools are available for locating datasets that meet specific research needs across academic disciplines and subjects. This guide will introduce you to dataset sources and search tools that you can access freely online for use in your research.
The PAU Library subscribes to the Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) to provide students, faculty, and staff with a rich supply of datasets. ICPSR datasets cover the fields sociology, political science, history, economics, gerontology, substance abuse and mental health, criminal justice, child care, health and medical care, education, and demography.
Datasets are also freely available from a variety of other legitimate sources, including universities, non-profit organizations, and government institutions.
