When searching for articles in a database, you will come across the option to use a permalink. A permalink (shorthand for "permanent link") refers to a stable link that will not change or expire. Using a permalink from a library's online catalog or database is a guaranteed method of having direct access to any electronic resource; this can save you time when gathering resources and prevent encounters with the dreaded 404 error page.
Permalinks can go by other names in other databases, such as:
The new interface from EBSCO makes it easier for users to copy permalinks.
With the new interface from EBSCO, users can now copy the permalink from their browser's address bar.
To share a page, simply highlight the URL in the address bar, then use the copy and paste function to paste the permalink wherever you would like to share the link.
The share button allows users to share a permalink from an item record in EBSCOhost. After clicking on the title of a resource from the results page, look for the share button.
Clicking the share button opens a pop-up window. Select the Create Link option to copy the permalink to the clipboard or use the copy and paste function to paste it elsewhere.
